CreateWiki's been down for at least six months without any updates regarding when it'll be back up. ShoutWiki's "Contact us" link leads to a nonexistent page. My wiki is no longer accessible, and takes me to a "MediaWiki internal error" page.

Is ShoutWiki dead or something? What's going on? Binarystep (talk) 06:35, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Both of those pages are horribly broken, both aren't coming back anytime soon. Special:Contact was losing the vast majority of support emails and CreateWiki has been broken in different states (more recently the unusably broken state). ShoutWiki has always been volunteer run (because at best, it earns enough to pay a person for a third of a month before hosting costs) and both Jack and I are incredibly busy at the moment with real-world stuff. Any time we have for ShoutWiki has gone into a lot of the behind the scenes stuff that is more important and actually a lot more work than most people realise. The Hub main page has the same supportshoutwiki.com address that we've always been reachable at, drop an email there with your issue. --Lewis Cawte (talk) ShoutWiki Staff 10:16, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
I'm just confused by what happened here. I'm sorry if my comments here came off as rude or demanding, I'm just a bit worried by the fact that ShoutWiki is effectively shut down for the foreseeable future. Binarystep (talk) 14:07, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
It's a secondary feature, "vital" support requests still get responded to pretty quickly, and editing still works. There are 12884 wikis (at time of writing) on ShoutWiki, editing still works on almost all of them, unfortunately, things do occasionally break because in the past we have - much to our own detriment - installed pretty much any extension for anyone that asks. Part of our behind the scenes programme for this year is to do some cleaning up and reduction in this and dead wikis so we can work on supporting a better more stable set of modern core features and we have less of these small breakages which are harder to spot. As I've said, send the email, I'll look into why you're getting errors. --Lewis Cawte (talk) ShoutWiki Staff 14:20, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
In hindsight, I was definitely being too dramatic here. Sorry about that. Binarystep (talk) 05:47, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
