As well as having a wiki on here, I look after another wiki for a local historical society. It is (was) a few hundred articles hosted on Miraheze and as some may know they have had a serious problem recently. They had the back-ups on the same disk as the database and had a physsical disk failure. So we lost the whole thing. They do have a very old back-up but the site has been extensively revised and expanded since then. Is there any way I can download a back-up of my own wiki (and images) off shoutwiki so that I can be confident that the same can't happen here? --Hooligan (talk) 17:47, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

Built-in tools for users are limited, somewhat purposely to limit server load and bandwidth. (Imagine a bot army, each bot requesting a full download simultaneously.) There's Special:Export, which can be a bit tedious, but doesn't require any programming skill necessarily. Special:Export doesn't export images, just the File: pages themselves. You'd have to download the images (including any history) separately. Special:AllPages can help. There are probably custom tools somewhere. --Saftzie (talk) 22:42, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
