You want to help out our over 700 wikis in the issues they may face, whether it be site customization, attracting new contributors, dealing with spam and vandalism or all of the above!
You know what {{#if:{{{foo}}}|hello| }} does and you're not afraid of learning more about CSS, JS and MediaWiki's wikitext.

The Customer Support Intern reports to Jack Phoenix, the Head of Customer Support Team.

Job Description

The Customer Support team are the face of ShoutWiki when it comes to contacting users, and we're looking for a new intern to fill a gap in our team! In more detail, your job will include:

  • Working with users and co-ordinating with other staff departments to get issues sorted as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Monitoring recent change feeds to find Terms of Use violations and vandalism.
  • Helping users create logos, gadgets and templates for their wikis.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of wiki markup.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Fluent in at least one language.
  • Initiative, there's an old wiki saying, "Be bold" - we understand it takes a while to learn the ropes, but users don't like waiting weeks for replies to their questions.

Bonus Requirements

  • Design skill - If your nifty with Photoshop or Gimp, it's a real bonus. You could well be asked to help relieve a backlog at Logo Creation Wiki or helping the Technical staff design a new skin!
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Basic developer understanding of MediaWiki is handy when coordinating with the developers!
  • Social media user, we use social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to stay in contact with our users.
  • Knowledge of another language or multiple languages!
