Has Shoutwiki gone bust? I suspect it might have.

Certainly their support seems to have disappeared. Errors reported to support@shoutwiki.com get an automated response but with a link that which either goes to a 404 or a privacy error page.

Also getting frequent nginx 502 Bad Gateway errors.

And no Twitter activity since Oct 2nd.

I've also asked for an XML dump (which they say they offer) but again, just an automated response that includes a link to a 404 page.

All the signs of either going under or no staff. Why would I ever think about upgrading to a paid service based on their current performance?

I agree with you. I contacted ShoutWiki Staff via s:w:youtube:Special:Contact to ask them if they can install mw:Extension:BlogPage and mw:Extension:SocialProfile on YouTube Wiki. It's been a long time now, and they still haven't responded to it. stranger195 (talkcontribsguestbook) 02:37, 22 December 2017 (UTC)
We're still very much here and going nowhere. That being said, we have a small staff team and we've been swamped with work as well as various things in our personal lives. That is by no means a justification, merely an explanation.
What HTTP 404 errors are you seeing? Can you post a screenshot/URL(s), either publicly or privately via email? This is literally the first time I'm hearing about this, but it certainly sounds quite big.
We're hoping to improve our social media visibility and whatnot during this year, but our first and foremost priority is keeping the sites up and running smoothly. Currently we're also working on the MediaWiki 1.30 upgrade, which is taking some time.
Apologizing on the behalf of the staff team,
