By this I mean how do I make it so that anyone can view my wiki (IE a Public Wiki) but also make it so that only me and who I grant permission to can make and edit pages? I know how to do this for individual pages, but how do I set this as a default setting for the whole Wiki? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Scramjet17 (talkcontribs) 19:53, 14 November 2016‎ (UTC). If you have a public wiki, staff can convert it to a private wiki. --Saftzie (talk) 21:14, 14 November 2016 (UTC)
But if I make a private wiki, then others won't be able to see it right? I just want to make a wiki that anyone could see without being invited, but nobody can edit without permission. --Scramjet17
There are 3 levels of private wiki:
  1. Everyone can read and edit everything, which makes it kind of pointless to create the wiki as a private wiki.
  2. Everyone can read everything, but only invited users can edit, which appears to be what you want.
  3. Only invited users can read or edit anything.

Yes, that second one is exactly what I'm looking for. So how do I go about doing that? --Scramjet17 (talk) 15:36, 15 November 2016
The best way is probably to submit a request at s:w:ianism:Special:Contact (assuming you mean for the Ianism wiki). It usually takes a few days. --Saftzie (talk) 15:43, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
