Do you have any suggestions, hints or tips on how to count page usage since the feature was removed in Mediawiki 1.25? I used to use the statistics page to see which pages were popular, but with the 1.25 release it doesn't include per page counts or even total counts.

So what are you using today to see page stats? Css1971 (talk) 13:56, 1 January 2017 (UTC)

You could ask for the StatCounter extension to be installed on your wiki through Special:Contact, although I'm not sure if ShoutWiki staff will install it since it's not on the list at Help:Extensions#On Request. SamanthaNguyen (talk) 06:53, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
I'll give that a try on the support address and ask them to evaluate it. Thanks. Css1971 (talk) 19:48, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Do note that Jack Phoenix (the leading member of the Customer Support team here) wrote it, so it should most likely be okay :) SamanthaNguyen (talk) 06:18, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
I doubt people have done very much here about it really. Since they were never really up to date or working at ShoutWiki (for performance reasons) --Lewis Cawte (talk) ShoutWiki Staff 11:36, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
I guess large and popular wikis would cane the DB with updates. I think most external counters/trackers are image based so don't really work with mediawiki as normally set up. Css1971 (talk) 19:48, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
