Hello. Recently my Wiki has been invaded by unregistered IP addresses making new pages on my Wiki and I can't seem to find where I can define user permissions on the Wiki in regards to new page creations. Superjustinbros (talk) 05:10, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

There are a few ways to deny anonymous users the ability to create pages.
  1. Block the offending IP addresses. You may also choose to block registered users from using those addresses. There is the torblock extension which automatically blocks edits from tor exit nodes. I don't know if anyone at ShoutWiki uses it already.
  2. Have staff revoke the createpage user right from * (all) and assign it to Users. You may want to do the same thing with createtalk, although I wouldn't advise it if you still want to allow anonymous users to edit.
  3. Have staff install AbuseFilter, then set a filter to block page creation by anonymous users. This option also creates a log so you can see which IP addresses have attempted filtered actions.
Here at Hub, I do a combination of blocking and filtering. --Saftzie (talk) 21:29, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
