Hi! I was just wondering, is it possible for me to manually change the favicon of my wiki? At the moment bzpb.shoutwiki.com looks like it has a broken favicon, not even the default "ShoutWiki" one. If possible I would like it changed to this, but in .ico format of course (I don't know anywhere online where I can host .ico files). Any help on the matter would be much appreciated! -Zykx (talk) 03:35, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi Zykx - uploading your image to File:Favicon.ico should do the trick. Best regards, --Cook879 ShoutWiki Staff talk 04:05, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply - but when I try to upload any .ico file to Favicon.ico now, I get an error saying "File extension ".ico" does not match the detected MIME type of the file (image/vnd.microsoft.icon).". I create my .ico files by using online converters to convert .jpg or .png files into .ico files - I'm guessing this is not the correct way to do it? -Zykx (talk) 04:26, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
Based off of a quick Google you probably want the MIME type to be image/x-icon.--Cook879 ShoutWiki Staff talk 13:40, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
I have the same problem, I tried Windows/Linux and Firefox/Chrome/Internet Explorer.--CassiodoroVicinetti (talk) 10:24, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
I have this problem and none of these solutions are helping! >:( —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Keznen (talkcontribs) 23:35, 11 December 2016‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with --~~~~!
This is an on-going issue. This is partly created by .ico never really being standardised by the wider community. I'll try and get a fix in place shortly, as it's a configuration tweak in Nginx that keeps disappearing. --Lewis Cawte (talk) ShoutWiki Staff 01:22, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
I had the same problems. I converted my .png into .ico, it seems to work, but it doesn't appear right now, as it doesn't seem to be refreshed. I will tell you later when the site will apply the change. --PERCE-NEIGE (talk) 12:00, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
I have run into a similar (perhaps related) issue. I have a properly created/fomratted .ico file for the favicon. I uploaded it to the File:Favicon.ico on my wiki, but all I see is the default ShoutWiki favicon (the blue butterfly icon). Even though I have refreshed the page(s) multiple times and force re-loaded it in my browser (Safari) to clear out its cache. Still displays asn the default ShoutWiki favicon. — Mitchell Gore (talk) 00:36, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
